Pattambi is a place of historical importance,situated on the bank of river “Nila” popularly known as “Bharatapuzha”. Pattambi , as a link town to the famous Guruvayoor temple have assumed importance and the town is fast growing with enough potential for businesses hitherto unexplored.

This place is rightly regarded as the central junction which leads to places like Calicut and Palakkad. It was the seat of renowned ancient Sanskrit scholars like Punnasseri Nambi's Sree Neelakanta Shrama, one of the scholars, founded a Sanskrit College (now taken over by the Govt of Kerala), here in 1899. The famous Agricultural Research station, was established here in 1927.

Pattambi is very near to Kerala Kalamandalam Cheruthuruthy, which is known world wide for Kerala’s traditional folk Art institute. People from all over the world are coming here for practicing the art forms like Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Kathak, Kuchipudi etc.

Towards the east we can find the grand old Namboothiri Manas Like Andaladi Mana (Maruthoor), Varikkasseri Mana (Ottapalam) and Pathirakunnath Mana (Cherpalssery). Film makers prefer, these adjacent areas of Pattambi due to it’s panoramic treasure.

The world famous Vaidya Madam, Arya Vaidaya Sala, where you can here solution for all kinds of chronic Rheumatic diseases, is situated at Mezhatoor, just 10 kms away from here. Further west lies, world acclaimed Kottakal Arya Vaidya Sala, renowned for Ayurvedic massage treatment like Dhara, Uzhichil, Pizhichil etc.
